AUDIOLAB | oscylinder scope
This interactive artwork/exhibit lets you explore the nature of sound by directly translating the vibration pattern of musical strings into visible waves.

CHAOSLAB | chaotic pendulum
A set of three connected pendulums demonstrates that a simple motion – a twist of a knob – can have complicated and unpredictable results.

ENERGYLAB | forms of energy
Power generation and energy conservation are both demonstrated and measured by lighting a series of lamps with hand-cranked, 1 hp motors.

GEOLOGYLAB | tectonic basin
A low-frequency vibrating base plate causes fine-grained red garnet sand to move and settle in ways that resemble the shifting sands of a desert.

MAGNETICSLAB | catapult
Learn about magnetism – its sources, properties, and practical applications – while you launch objects with an electromagnetic catapult.

MOTIONLAB | turntable
With a little help from visitors, a 40-inch spinning platter sends objects into orbiting trajectories around the platter’s axis of rotation.

The Mobius Spokane board of directors would like to extend a special thank you to the community for its generous support and the many volunteers that made MOBIUSLAB a reality!
