Overview
Mobius was formed by the merger of two local organizations,
SciTech and the Children’s Museum of Spokane,
and is dedicated to two endeavors:
Mobius
Science and Technology Center at Michael Anderson Plaza – A critically needed and resident requested
science and technology center to enhance educational
opportunities for lifelong learners.
Mobius
Kids – An
expanded children’s museum facility located
at River Park Square for early learners.
Our name was inspired by a
Mobius Strip – a loop of material with a
single twist. This creates a continuous one-sided
plane and represents the endless possibilities,
creativity and sustainability that the organization
encourages. Mobius Strips have been used in ways
ranging from industrial applications and artwork,
to the basis for the universal recycling symbol.
Our Mission
To be a Northwest Institution that is a center
of hands-on science, arts and cultural education,
inspiring kids in every stage of life.
Our Vision
To be the hub of an energized community of lifelong
learners inspired to explore the global connections
of science and society.
Who we are
Mobius is an authentic grassroots community project.
The organization is comprised of a dedicated group
of people who live in your community; they are
your neighbors and your friends. This group has
worked tirelessly to fulfill a need in our town
and our region that will allow our children to
experience science, art, and technology during
their most important developmental years. Mobius
is lead by an energized volunteer Board of Directors
that is dedicated to making Spokane a better place
to live and visit through the Mobius Science Center.
